Encoding - Decoding
The inspiration for Encoding - Decoding comes from Stuart Hall’s book, “Encoding-Decoding”. Hall explains in his book that throughout our media, messages are coded into TV and movies. Content will always take a second place seat to the framing, and perspective in which it’s shown.

Above, the still I chose to be the cover. I wanted to exemplify how a certain action could be percieved in a multitude of different ways. To begin the movie, the subject recieves a call, about what is unknown. As the subject moves through their day, the story splits into two parts. One story whre the subject is going out to help someone with their bike. In contrast the other story follows the subject as he is about the butcher someone up. Using Encoding-Decoding as my inspiration, my goal was to make an intro that could have led into both stories.
